How It's Made & decomposes
Corn plastic is made from polylactic acid PLA & PBAT, which is a plastic substitute, made from fermented plant starch. Corn Starch Plastic is an alternative product to petroleum-based plastic. It has the same characteristics, but corn plastic is made from corn starch polymers, a biodegradable and renewable resource.
Corn plastic packaging or items made from corn plastic will decompose within two months of being in a high-humidity composting environment, at a temperature of above 60° Celcius or 140° Fahrenheit, unlike plastic.
